Bricktown by Land or Water

Brimming with nightlife, museums, dining to fit every palate, hiking and walking trails, a ballpark, and, of course, Oklahoma City’s own canal and riverwalk, Bricktown is a beloved staple for visitors and residents to the urban core.

A regular on Oklahoma City top-ten lists, the Bricktown Water Taxi has been giving riders a glimpse of another side of Oklahoma City for over 20 years – the view from the ground up. Just a street in the 1990s, the waterway was carved to create what is now the Bricktown Canal, and from there the Bricktown Water Taxi was born.

A cruise down the Bricktown Canal immerses riders in the sights and sounds of a bustling district at a leisurely pace, with gorgeous views of Bricktown’s historic red-brick architecture, festivals, and attractions. Riders can take in the fine details of a building that’s over 100 years old, or learn about some of Oklahoma City’s famed (and not-so-famed) legends and heroes.

The Water taxi stops at passenger request, allowing them to take their time exploring the area. The next time you’re looking to spend a day in Bricktown, take the Oklahoma City Streetcar to the Mickey Mantle or Ballpark platforms, then walk a couple of minutes to the landing at 111 S Mickey Mantle Dr. Then, hop on to hear the story of Oklahoma City told by a friendly and entertaining guide, sure to be worth the price of admission. Stop for lunch along the route, and maybe meander along the canal before jumping on again. Cruise around Lower Bricktown to finish out your trip and take in some of Bricktown’s amazing murals and scenery. If weather permits and you’re feeling adventurous, climb aboard the Oklahoma River Cruise to extend your sightseeing tour of OKC; the canal intersects with the River Cruise’s Bricktown Landing

Are you ready to plan your trip? Just check their website for hours of operation before leaving as they operate weather-permitting outside of the summer season. Water Taxi tickets can be purchased at the landing or on their website. Water Taxis can also be chartered for private events, including lunch, dinner or cocktail options for groups.

Next time you’re in Bricktown, take a ride on the Bricktown Water Taxi and the OKC Streetcar. We are certain you will see Oklahoma City in a new light.

EMBARK and OKC Streetcar have partnered with our downtown neighbors to form the Love the Loops program, promoting neighborhoods and districts along the OKC Streetcar route. Through the free partnership, OKC Streetcar and its partners educate residents and visitors about local businesses and events in the heart of Oklahoma City.
