Love the Loops: Coffee Slingers Roasters

Full steam ahead: Farm to cup… to OKC’s Automobile Alley

The farm-to-cup concept has hit Oklahoma City with full steam. Coffee Slingers Roasters is on a mission to keep OKC caffeinated with coffee sourced straight from some of the world’s top producers. Fortunately, you need only hop on board the OKC Streetcar to get that perfectly brewed cup made with beans from far beyond the border.

Located in Automobile Alley at 1015 N. Broadway, Coffee Slingers sits steps away from the OKC Streetcar’s downtown loop. The café is a four-minute walk from the Art Park streetcar platform at 1138 N Broadway Ave., or a four-minute walk from the NW 10th streetcar platform, located at 202 NW 10th St.

Coffee Slingers’ globally-minded approach to sourcing their beans not only results in a delicious, fresh cup, it’s building a community that extends beyond Oklahoma City. The farm-to-cup process is a passion for the Coffee Slingers team; they value their relationships with suppliers and the impact their mutual reliance has on the final product, creating a consistency and quality that’s often lost with mass production.

When you arrive at the café, you’ll be greeted by the works of Andy Boatman, a local glassblower and Coffee Slingers regular. The front window features an ongoing installation of his original pieces. Before you can take in the full beauty of the window, you’ll be overwhelmed by the inviting aroma of coffee. And it tastes as good as it smells! In addition to sourcing coffee directly from quality producers, the Coffee Slingers team continues their pursuit of the perfect cup in the roasting process. They work with producers, farmers, millers and importers to make informed decisions on the best way to roast beans to ensure optimal freshness and quality. Once roasted, Coffee Slingers tastes every single coffee to ensure top quality.

Coffee Slingers’ rigorous process means every cup brewed is practically perfect. The only trouble is deciding which blend to order. With several options like Americano, cold brew, espresso, press coffee, lattes, macchiatos and more, the choice is never easy! Non-coffee lovers can order one of their varieties of black tea, green tea, herbal tea or iced tea. You can also order by at the bag in-store or online, along with mugs, kettles, t-shirts, and any accessory needed to make your favorite morning pick-me-up at home.

After you’re caffeinated, explore the other restaurants, shops and businesses located within Automobile Alley (give some extra love to the Love the Loops partners!). Bonus tip: you can explore on foot or on one of Spokies Classic bikes. Spokies is EMBARK’s bike share program. A bicycle dock is located along Broadway Avenue just south of Northwest 9th Street.

When you’re ready to head back to your vehicle, Automobile Alley has three streetcar platforms:

The OKC Streetcar is a proud community partner, transporting visitors and residents to the best OKC has to offer, including Coffee Slingers and dozens of other local businesses along the streetcar route.
